Today we slept in again and got up and ready for breakfast. We ate at "Claire's" again. They have really good food there. Even though today was Sunday, we decided not to go to church. After breakfast, we went back to our room and packed up all our stuff. We were going to head to the Rocky Mountain National Park there. First we stopped by the Information Center before heading into the park and I got some survivors and scrap book paper so that I could do it in our album. Then we headed into the park. It was really, really wind when we got there. It was so strong that it was hard to take any pictures as the camera was shaking all over. Almost as soon as we entered the park we saw a heard of elk on the field. It was really cool because some was in the water and others were in the land. It was cool seeing them close (sort of :)). We headed up the mountain stopping in certain places to rest or look around. The snow was piled really high on the sides of the road. It was really cool to see how high the snow was. It was higher than Joshua! Most of the snow was still on the ground and there was even some people cross-country skier. We headed up as high as we could, some of the roads were still blocked off because of all the snow on the ground. We got out and walked around and looked at the gorgeous views. It was beautiful see the mountains covered with snow and the valleys below. We even took a picture together. I tried really hard to get a few pictures of us instead of just scenery. There was quite alot of people driving around the park. After reaching the highest point, we decided to go back the other way and head towards the entrance. We were also getting hungry. After we got out of the park, we had to decide where to eat lunch. We actually ate at the grocery store that had a deli in it. It was over by "The Other Side" restaurant that we ate at before. The food was good and it was a good pick as we started the 3 hour drive back to the springs. It was just as beautiful driving down as it was up. This time we stopped at the old church that we saw going up the highway through Roosevelt National Park. It was an old Catholic Church that was not used any more, but you could still go in and look around. There was even a sign on the door asking that whoever entered will close the door so that animals did not come in. When we had the flooding a couple of years ago, the flood waters reached the church. The outside was damaged, but it still looked amazing. We took some pictures and continued on our way. The views down the park were amazing! Especially since I slept through them the first time. We took some pictures on our way down. It was amazing to see the small, low river that rose so much when it rained that it flooded everything. We continued our trip passing all the places that we did heading up- Golden and Boulder. I slept again. There is just something about a warm car and long rides. We stopped a couple of times to go to the bathroom, but wanted to get home. My mom said that we did not have to be home until 7 pm, but we were ready to get home. We did stop by Cabela's again before heading home. I bought a necklace for my sister and Joshua got a flashlight and a knife for an early birthday present. We spent quite awhile there, but we were both getting hungry and were trying to decided what to eat for dinner. I had eaten off my diet, no cheese or diary, and wanted to go home to eat. Joshua said that was fine and we headed home. The kids were excited to see us and we had a great time with them before they went to bed. We also gave them their gifts which they liked. It felt really good to be home.
